In April 2024, NASA selected Intuitive Machines, as one of the prime contractors, for the agency’s Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services Feasibility Assessment. The contract tasks the Intuitive Machines-led Moon RACER team with creating a feasibility roadmap to develop and deploy a Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) on the Moon using Intuitive Machines’ heavy-cargo class lunar lander.
